How do I check my bill without a reference number?

Use your 10-digit consumer ID instead — printed just below the 14-digit code on any previous bill. If you have lost all previous bills, visit your nearest subdivision office with your CNIC and they will retrieve your account details.

Can I check my bill by CNIC number?

No. The system does not allow bill lookup by CNIC through any online portal. The only valid methods are the 14-digit reference number and the 10-digit consumer ID. Anyone claiming otherwise is providing wrong information.

What is the MEPCO reference number?

It is the unique 14-digit code printed at the top-left corner of every electricity bill. It contains your subdivision code, batch number, and account number. This code stays the same across all your bills and identifies your specific connection.

Why is my electricity bill so high this month?

The most likely reasons: your monthly consumption crossed 200 kWh, moving all usage to unprotected tariff rates; FPA was higher this month; or an estimated reading was issued above your actual consumption. Check the bill breakdown line by line or use the bill calculator to verify.

How do I check if my bill has been paid?

When you check your bill online, look at the payment status field, which shows whether the current amount is paid or unpaid. Alternatively, check your next month's bill: if the previous amount appears in the arrears column it was not paid; if arrears show zero it was settled.

When does the bill come each month?

Meters are read on a rotating schedule per subdivision. Your billing cycle runs approximately 30 days. The bill is usually available online 2 to 3 days after the meter reading date, and the paper copy arrives 5 to 10 days after that.

What does EST mean on my electricity bill?

EST means the reading was estimated — the meter reader did not physically visit your premises that month. Your electricity usage was estimated based on past consumption. If the estimated amount looks significantly higher than usual, file a correction complaint.

What is a detection bill?

A detection bill is a penalty charge issued when electricity theft, meter tampering, kunda connections, or unauthorized load extension is found. It is calculated under Sections 39 and 39-A of the Electricity Act 1910 and is separate from your regular monthly bill.

How do I pay my MEPCO bill online?

The easiest methods are JazzCash and EasyPaisa, both taking under 2 minutes. Open the app, go to Bill Payment, select Electricity and MEPCO, enter your reference number, and confirm. You can also pay through any bank's mobile app, at an ATM, at a bank branch, or at a Pakistan Post office.

How do I get old electricity bills?

What is MDI on my bill?

MDI stands for Maximum Demand Indicator. It appears on industrial and large commercial bills, measuring the peak power demand in kW drawn in any 30-minute window during the billing month. Domestic and small commercial connections do not have an MDI charge.

What is EX on my electricity bill?

EX stands for the previous reading, or Ex-reading. Your bill shows the previous month's meter reading and the current reading. The difference between them is the number of units consumed.
